The "Youth MED" is a network of NGOs based within the Mediterranean Basin, it aims to enhance youth mobility at-large, to set up a youth NGOs’ network within the Mediterranean area, to promote intercultural youth exchanges and voluntary service projects.

In the last five years, youth issues within the Mediterranean area have got momentum, particularly for what the international cooperation in this field is concerned.

Within the highest level of international cooperation in the Mediterranean area, youth matters have became one of the agreed tasks that both sides of the Mediterranean basin will commonly carry out (Euro-Mediterranean Conference Work Program, Barcelona (Spain) 27-28 November 1995).

Since many years, a number of youth NGOs within the Mediterranean area have started to cooperate together, too. The Youth MED network aims to be a solid starting point for the implementation of actions in favor of a concrete policy for the young people of this area.

The network foresse the participation of all the European Union southern countries: Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece and the Mediterranean countries: Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt. Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Cyprus and Malta.
