Program & Schedule

The autistic children’s center in Split is in a real need of operating on a larger scale to accommodate more children who expect to join them. This is in fact a long term project to house Autistic Children as they get older and provide further education to help them through their adult life.

Therefore, by joining this project, you can make a real contribution to enhance the facilities required for the development of children with autism.

Aims & Objectives

●     To assist the Center staff with construction and renovation efforts in an organized team where you will meet participants sharing the same vision from around the world

●     To create cultural exchange opportunities through our efforts to foster more opportunities for children with autism

●     To give you some practical experience in light renovation work


Monday to Friday

  • Cleaning the areas to be renovated
  • Engaging in construction and renovation activities under the supervision of the coordinator and with the support of the locals
  • Building treks, play areas according to the advices of the staff of the Center
This schedule can be changed and/or amended depending on weather conditions, local conditions and unforeseen circumstances.

Additional Requirements

Participants below the age 18 should have parental consent and participants above 65 should have medical clearance to take part in this program.

Living & Location

The location of your accommodation will be closer to the locations where your programs will be operated. You will also have access to basic facilities within a few kilometers so that you can buy the things you want for your stay while you are staying at this accommodation.

You will be sharing your room with other participants on single gender basis. A refrigerator will also be available for you to store your food. If you seek protection from mosquitos, we recommend that you bring your own mosquito net with you.

Food Arrangements

The meals will include a mix of Western and local food.


Local restaurants, ATMs, mini marts, and medical facilities are available within 5km radius.

Croatia which is located in central and south east Europe is a sovereign state which has a diverse climates. They inhabited the island in the early 7th century AD and currently the tourism industry plays a major role in bringing in the income mostly during the summer as Croatia being ranked the 18th most popular travel destination in the world. The islands are blessed with a luscious vegetation with low mountains and highlands with forests. The largest islands that belong to Croatia are Cres and Krk each consisting of an area approximately around 400 square miles. While the country is mostly known for its beautiful beaches, the islands also consists of beautiful rivers such as Sava, Drava, Kupa and Danube, the second largest river of Europe. And in addition to these, Croatia owns a multiple deep caves and breathtakingly beautiful lakes which are mostly turquoise to mint green or blue, making them most travelers famous destinations.


The Croatian climate according to the Köppen climate classification, describes as moderately warm and rainy with an average temperature of about −3 °C in the month of January and 18 °C in the month of July. While the Adriatic coast is considered the warmed parts of Croatia, Lika and Gorski Kotar are considered the coldest areas with snowy forested climates.


The culture of Croatia is mainly influenced by its geographical location as the representation of four different cultural influences can be seen. There is a mix of both western culture as well as the eastern. But it was in the 19th century that Croatia experienced its most flourishing years related to arts and culture as a result of the Illyrian movement. Croatia can boast about seven sites that managed to be listed under the UNESCO world heritage list in addition to owning ten of world’s intangible cultural masterpieces of UNESCO as Croatia possesses an intangible culture.


The influences of Mediterranean cuisine and Italian cuisine can be seen in Croatian cuisine although the traditional cuisine may change from one region to another. The food mostly feature seafood dishes, pasta, vegetable dishes and the use of olive oil in culinary practices. Until the considerable growth in the consumption of beer started in the 18th century, it was mainly a wine consuming country.
